LTK

Laser Thermal Keratoplasty (LTK) involves the strategic placement of laser spots on the peripheral cornea, causing the central cornea to steepen. The procedure received FDA approval in 2000 for treatment of farsightedness in patients without significant amounts of astigmatism.

A more recently approved technology called Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) has mostly replaced this LTK in standard practice due to less regression of effect over time.
