Dr. Hauswirth graduated with honors from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He obtained his Doctorate in Optometry in 1999 from the Southern California College of Optometry, where he received numerous awards for clinical service and student leadership. He went on to complete a one-year fellowship program in Cornea, Glaucoma, and Refractive Surgical Management at Minnesota Eye Consultants in Minneapolis. He joined Minnesota Eye Consultants full-time clinical staff in 2000. Since then, he has maintained an active role in the research team as a subinvestigator for numerous refractive and glaucoma studies, has lectured at national meetings has published articles and book chapters in optometric and ophthalmologic journals and texts. He provides services in surgical management and emergency care in addition to primary care and contact lens fittings. Dr. Hauswirth currently practices in the Minneapolis, Bloomington, and Plymouth locations.
