Intacs is a non-laser procedure with FDA approval for patients with low levels of myopia, or nearsightedness, without significant astigmatism. The procedure involves placement of two tiny cylinders within the periphery of the cornea. These segments, which can be removed or exchanged, help maintain a more natural corneal shape to restore vision.
The Intacs procedure is also used as an alternative treatment for keratoconus. This procedure can improve vision and reduce the distortion caused by keratoconus. |
