Ahmad M. Fahmy, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Ahmad M. Fahmy received his professional education from the Illinois College of Optometry and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in May 2001. He completed residency training in peri-operative care of glaucoma, anterior segment pathology, and refractive surgery with Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. He earned Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2004 and joined Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. as a staff optometrist also in 2004.
Dr. Fahmy is an Adjunct Faculty Assistant Professor of the Illinois College of Optometry and an advisory Board Member of the Kirby Puckett Education Center in the Philips Eye Institute. He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and the Optometric Council of Refractive Surgery.
He has been involved in clinical care of disadvantaged populations in the Dominican Republic and Peru and is devoted to continued involvement in the development of philanthropic eye care projects. He is actively involved in numerous clinical research trials and has been a guest lecturer at the American Academy of Optometry, Minnesota Optometric Association, The Philips Eye Institute, and International Congress in Lima, Peru.
