Scott G. Hauswirth, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Hauswirth graduated with honors from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He obtained his Doctorate in Optometry in 1999 from the Southern California College of Optometry, where he received numerous awards for clinical service and student leadership. He went on to complete a one-year fellowship program in Cornea, Glaucoma, and Refractive Surgical Management at Minnesota Eye Consultants in Minneapolis, joining Minnesota Eye Consultants full-time clinical staff in 2000. Since then, he has maintained an active role in the research team as a subinvestigator for numerous refractive, glaucoma, and dry eye studies.   He is a regular lecturer at regional and national meetings, and has published articles and book chapters in optometric and ophthalmologic journals and texts. Dr. Hauswirth is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an examiner for the National Board of Optometry, a member of the Optometric Council of Refractive Technology, and is on the editorial board of Primary Care Optometry News, one of the leading periodical publications for optometrists nationwide.  Dr. Hauswirth leads the optometric student externship program at Minnesota Eye Consultants and is adjunct faculty at the Southern California College of Optometry as well as the Illinois College of Optometry. 

Dr. Hauswirth currently practices in the Minneapolis, Bloomington, and Blaine locations, providing services in surgical management and emergency care in addition to primary care.
