Northwest Haiti Christian Mission
Dr. Patrick Riedel recently traveled to St. Louis de Nord on the northwest coast of Haiti to participate in an eye mission trip at Northwest Haiti Christian Mission. While the bulk of the iTeam came from Kansas City, there were a number of participants that travelled from other locations. Cynthia Ganzer, our own Minnesota Eye Consultants tech, joined the group as a surgical assistant. The entire team did about 150 cases (and saw over 900 clinic patients) over the course of the week. Cataract surgery, multiple ptyerygia, enucleations, and other plastics procedures were performed during the week; many of those on pediatric patients.
