These articles contained data from clinical outcomes and were reviewed and graded for quality, impression, and potential bias. An important note from this article is that LASIK outcomes have improved over time, as our advancements in technology continue to improve. According to this study, “The percentages of eyes with a UDVA (Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity) of 20/20 or better and 20/40 or better were higher than the percentages reported in the original FDA summaries of safety and effectiveness data.” Although a recent study reports some patients experiencing dry eye symptoms for the first time post-operatively at 3 months, this article states that “multiple studies have shown that corneal sensation returns to normal in almost all cases at 6 months postoperatively.” To read the full study on LASIK Outcomes, click here.
