Joshua King, M.D., is the 2025–26 Cornea Fellow at Minnesota Eye Consultants. Originally from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Dr. King earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency. He graduated summa cum laude from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Dr. King has a strong background in clinical research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications focused on glaucoma, laser procedures, and surgical outcomes. His work has been presented at national and international conferences, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the World Glaucoma Congress. During residency, he received several honors, including the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding OKAP Score and the John Aure Buesseler Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology.
In addition to his academic and clinical accomplishments, Dr. King has been deeply involved in volunteer work, including service with the MedZou Health Outreach Clinic and refugee eye care initiatives. He also served on the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Council and was a student ambassador during medical school.
Outside of ophthalmology, Dr. King enjoys staying active through hiking, working out, and playing sports. He played NCAA baseball during his time at Murray State University and continues to explore new interests such as traveling, trying new foods, and learning guitar.
