Originally from Redwood Falls, MN, Dr. Mark Buboltz earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Buboltz went on to receive his doctorate of optometry, graduating magna cum laude, from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. While there he received awards of merit for clinical excellence and the school’s Trustee’s Scholarship. Dr. Buboltz then performed a year-long residency focused on anterior segment disease, glaucoma, and refractive surgery co-management at Minnesota Eye Consultants. He received his Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2016.
Dr. Buboltz has presented cases and research at various regional and national meetings including the American Society of Corneal and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Minnesota Optometric Association. He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and Minnesota Optometric Association.
Dr. Buboltz serves as the optometric residency coordinator at Minnesota Eye Consultants and is adjunct clinical faculty at the Illinois College of Optometry. In addition to primary eye care, Dr. Buboltz has special interests in soft and specialty contact lens fitting, dry eye, glaucoma, urgent care, and ocular and refractive surgery management. Dr. Buboltz sees patients primarily at the Minnesota Eye Consultants’ Bloomington, Falcon Heights, and Minneapolis locations. In his free time, Dr. Buboltz enjoys fishing and hunting, playing/ watching sports of many varieties, spending time at the lake (whether frozen or thawed), as well as being with his family, friends, and fiancé.
